The Nikon D3100 is a 14.2 megapixel DX format digital SLR camera announced in August 2010. It is featured with 11 point auto focus, image sensor cleaning, and 1080HD video with full-time auto focus and sound.

Similar as Nikon D3000, the Nikon D3100 has no autofocus motor inside camera body. It means that only Nikon autofocus lenses or compatible can be used in autofocus mode on Nikon D3100.
